When is seatbelt awareness month

The Memorial Day holiday weekend marks the unofficial start of summer. For many children across the country, it also marks the start of summer vacation. We at NHTSA want to wish travelers a safe and happy summer by reminding everyone of the importance of buckling up—every trip, every time!

During the Memorial Day holiday, about 10, law enforcement agencies nationwide will be out on the roads from May 20 through June 2 to remind drivers and passengers to buckle their seat belts. Use these enforcement resources for outreach during the campaign dates to highlight the dangers of not wearing a seat belt.
